JSON(L) Viewer is designed to stay out of the way. These are the fastest paths through the features people use most.

Open a document

Choose File → Open, drag a file onto the welcome window, or open it from Finder. JSON, JSONL, NDJSON, and compatible text files are supported.

Search and filter

Use search to find text in the current document. Use the path filter for focused, jq-style exploration without sending your data anywhere.

Reload changed files

When a file changes on disk, JSON(L) Viewer detects the update and lets you reload while keeping the rest of your workspace intact.

JSON(L) Viewer is a local document utility. It has no account system, advertising, analytics, or cloud processing.

Documents are processed entirely on your Mac.
The app does not collect analytics, diagnostics, or personal data.
There are no ads, tracking technologies, or third-party analytics SDKs.
Only files you choose are opened, using read-only access.
Appearance preferences, recent-file bookmarks, and session restoration data stay on your device.

If you remove the app, macOS manages deletion of its local preferences and sandboxed data. Files you opened remain yours and are never modified by the app.
